My painfully slow bone stock RazrMaxx 912 is painfully slow, it will however out perform any displayed Turbo's Verizon has out there as far as the phone radio goes, never rooted a phone and haven't needed to until now. Any suggestions? Yhe phone is the only thing still working consistently, if I try to do anything else the screen freezes and locks up tight. Will rooting fix this? I have cleared all the app caches, as well as the phones cache at least 3 times and 2 FDR's only to get temporary relief(2  hrs at best). Not toially opposed to an upgrade, but would like to see if I can fix this one.

Rooting won't fix a performance problem.  Since a fdr does seem to fix the problem even if it is for a short time I would guess that you have an app that is not working correctly.  The first place I would look is to go to settings apps when the phone starts to slow down and look for a user app that is constantly taking up cpu cycles and uninstalling it.  I know it is time consuming and a pain but I will be willing to bet you will find the problem there. Look at the apps you have installed first.  If that doesn't help then we can look at re-flashing the firmware.  But trying to root or make system changes when your phone is acting poorly isn't a good idea.
