Hello everyone. I'm considering trading in my galaxy nexus for a droid razor max. The only thing I think I would might miss about ice cream sandwich is the new updated on going voice recognition. I can't tell if it's built in to the keyboard on the galaxy nexus, or if it is built into the operating system. In any case, I wonder if anyone has ported that functionality over the droid razor.

My galaxy Nexus transcribes my voice continuously as I keep talking. I would absolutely love to find out if the droid razor can do the same. Thanks for any insights everyone. I appreciate your help.

Well i am currently running ics on my razr maxx and i agree with you the voice to text is amazing and you would be right to miss it. however you will welcome the difference in the radios and battery life as well as the quality of the phone. if you root your phone you could always use the ported ics rom from the gnex i am currently using.

Banshee-

No, it's more than just the button on the keyboard (ICS and gingerbread both have the button). It's what happens after you press that button. On ICS It doesn't just listen fora sentence or 2. On ICS It keeps listening indefinitely until you hit "done". You can literally dictate a whole email, multiple paragraphs. I think it's the most significant improvement in ICS.

Is the ported ics fully functional, stable? Faster than stock 2.3 on the razr? Point me to the thread/download... Thanks!

EDIT: I should mention I'm on Verizon. Just jumped ship form sprint. I want my LTE! Do we really have a stable ported ICS for the verizon razr?!?

It's an alpha release as of right now but many would say it's more of a final beta.

Is there any way to just port over the ics voice recognition engine to gingerbread?

There's a bit too much "alpha" in the razr icsrom for my tastes :)
