Hi everyone! Just want to say love the site. Its a great find :)

I currently have a stock rooted with bootstrap installed Razr Maxx. I really have not done anything to it other than freeze the built in IM app, since it starts up on its own all the time.

I actually enjoy the look and feel of the stock OS and the new blur. But what I would like to do is squeeze battery by finding a ROM thats pretty much stock just completely debloated.

Any thoughts, suggestions? I dont really like ROM's that are themed or have tons of extra features. Just want to get rid of any VZ bloat and keep the stock look!

Thanks!

There is a thread right below yours asking the same thing. Abysm appears to have better battery life and is debloated.

I saw that thread, and also that rom. The only problem for me is that ROM takes out Blur for the most part, along with the bloat. I like Blur though :) I just wanted to find a rom to remove all the safe bloat removed, but all of blur still there.

Why do you need to squeeze more battery life out of the Maxx? If you like the original UI, maybe try to tweak battery life with smart actions or download juice defender

Just trying to make the most of an amazing device :) I also like to just remove bloat, and usually just use a ROM for that. I guess I can also try and find out what bloat can be frozen!

You can hide the bloat if you want, I personally don't want to get rid of it just in case there is a new leak, I don't want to put it all back on, but you can remove it using Root Explorer or Rom Toolkit, you basically just rename the apk to bak of the bloat you don't want to see and poof its gone.

I'm also nervous to try doing to upgrade from stock to .173 or 174. I dont want to risk bricking the device, so right now, I have what came on the phone.

No matter what you do to the phone you can always return to stock using the fastboot files.

As long as you stay stock and don't try to flash things when your battery is almost dead you run almost zero risk of bricking your device. You don't even need to be rooted which lowers your risk even further.
