Hello,

I've just joined the forum today - so of course I will kick things off with a question.

I purchased insurance from Asurion on my Droid Maxx phone. Recently the screen cracked and I was issued a refurbished phone. The battery charge on my "newly refurbished" phone appears not to hold a charge as long. So my questions are about the phone battery.

1. Is it possible for Droid Maxx batteries to perform differently - over time?

2. Do I have a legitimate complaint with the Insurance company that the phone battery is under-performing when compared with my previous phone? Does anyone have experience with this type of situation?

2. Is there any way to evaluate the status of a Droid Maxx battery?

3. And I guess beyond that, is there a test to evaluate the overall phone's performance? Should one expect a refurbished phone to perform differently from the same phone fresh out of the box -  and if so, how can one test and prove this?

4. And finally, a separate question with regards to charging my Droid Maxx phone - is there a device which tests the speed of charge coming through various USB cables? I have several different cables - some issued by Motorola and some purchased overseas and others received as gifts... just not sure how to determine which ones to use.

Thanks in advance for your assistance and input.

You should beable to have them send you another phone because of that issue.  It is worth checking out. The battery is on the check out list for a refurbished phone however in my one exchange I complained and was offered another replacement.  Rather than go through a hit or miss on the luck of the draw I elected to have the battery replaced at a local repair shop.  As far as monitoring a charge and being able to pick a charger and cable that work well together I use this app

I had bought a few extra long cables for charging that I found was complete crap and had to go back to the factory cable.

Spainter - thank you for the reply.

The battery on my Droid Maxx is built into the phone - I didn't think the battery could be replaced. Can it, and if so, about how much would it cost?

Also, thank you for the app link for a charge speed test - very useful. What range of speeds should I be looking for?

Does anyone know how to run a diagnostic test on my Droid Maxx phone (and battery) to determine if the phone is functioning adequately - given that it has been refurbished?

Thanks in advance!

Thank you soocold and spainter.

Does anyone know how to run a diagnostic test on a Droid Maxx phone (and battery) ?

I still believe my refurbished phone is under-performing and hope to find a way to test it.

thanks!
