Great news for those of you that want or are interested in Ice Cream Sandwich ROMs. Google has or is in the process of releasing the source code to Android 4.0.1 or as you guys know it; Ice Cream Sandwich. While this isn’t as exciting for those who don’t develop to those that do. What it does mean is that developers can start cranking out the mods. ROMs such as Cyanogen Mod (CM) 9 may be released sooner versus later. Upon checking out the Google Group web site it appears that it may take a while for the Gerit servers to come online and for the code to be finished uploading.

Jean-Basptiste Queru, Software Engineer, Android Open-Source Project, Google writes,
“… However since this is a large push, please be aware that it will take some time to complete. If you sync before it's done, you'll get an incomplete copy that you won't be able to use, so please wait for us to give the all-clear before you sync.”

This is an exciting time for those that are chomping at the bit for ICS ROMs. Stay tuned for news on when they start to appear.
