Firstly apologies if this has been posted before but I was given an XT910 via a house clearance.

When I plug it in via the PC usb bock all I get is a white LED, nothing seems to boot the thing up, I have a factory cable and no amount of button pressing and/or swearing seems to get it to do anything.

Is it worth trying to repair or shall I just toss it in the bin?

Try plugging it into a ac wall charger for a few hours. Watch it and make sure it doesn't get hot.  The battery may be dead or has gone bad from sitting.  If nothing changes or it starts to get hot you will have to change the battery.

Probably there is no software installed....Droid XT910 and XT912 Razr phones do not charge without an operating system

Little late but yes, you might have a battery problem. My razr does the same thing if I allow the battery to fully discharge. It will came back to life after about 5 min. of charge, every time.

Note: It will not turn on with the power charger only, it needs the battery so, if you have a bad battery, then it probably will not.

Good luck!
