Hello again everyone!

We've decided to start a small series of staff interviews so all of you can get to know our developers, mods and admins a little bit more.

Our first interview is the one and only mattlgroff! You all know him and his famous utility for the XT912, here's a little more information about him:

-What device(s) do you currently have (Development or otherwise)?
Motorola DROID BIONIC, Motorola Atrix HD, and Motorola RAZR i.

-What got you started in the Android community?
I started doing tests of CM9 for the DROID RAZR back before the touchscreen even worked, for dhacker29. I decided to do a CMD version of what RSD Lite does to make things easier to use for myself and because I was bored, why not. Dhacker29 gave me the idea of adding more than use 1 use into the CMD version of "RAZR Restore" to which I added Dan Rosenberg's exploit for the DROID RAZR at the time, Bootstrap, Safestrap, Voodoo OTA Rootkeeper, etc. until we got the Utility that we have for today. I have done a bit of stock ROMming but nothing I am too proud of, scripts are more fun.

-Since you started in the Android community, what has been your favorite device that you've had, why?
I like my Motorola RAZR i. Running on an Intel Atom and having an unlockable bootloader from Motorola quality hardware? Yes please!

-Who do you look up to or respect in the Android community, anyone who has really helped you out?
I look up to dhacker29 and Hashcode the most. Those two are always willing to help me out when I'm stuck with some kind of coding or scripting problem. Great guys

-How did you learn about modding and development (Did someone walk you through how ROMs are set up? Trial and error? Online Resource?)
Mostly followed dhacker29's instructions to me in google talk, but for most of it I was on my own. Learning on your own is the best way for sure. I learned a ton from my buddies at TBH about how the security of the bootloader and such works, and Google is always your friend.

-You're on a desert island and you can only have three (3) apps on your phone from the market, what would they be (Does not include SS or ROMs, and you have 4G)?
AndFTP, Google Talk, and Chrome.

-What do you do in your spare time for fun?
I'm a student at a local community college in San Diego, and this is my little spare time for fun

-With all the talk about new technologies this year, what are you looking forward to in the Android community?
The growth of Intel Atom's used in Android phones for sure. The chip in the Lenovo K900 looks very promising.

My three apps would be different, but the phrasing of this question does seem to keep me from having they Play Store as a useful app. :P

Nice! Thanks to Matt for all the stuff he does and I completely agree about Google Talk.

I have been using the PC client version since before I ever had my first cellphone and TBH owes it's entire existence to Google Talk as it is and has been our primary means of communication from it's inception! ;)

Thanks to you guys for bothering to show me some of the stuff you learned :) OMAPs were certainly more understandable and documented than this Snapdragon non-sense.

Gotta love Google Talk!
