new here and looked and looked but can't find the answer.

I have a droid mini and need the hotspot to work like it does on my droid razor. The question is how do I inable the hotspot? I got it to root with kingo root but can't get any of the other tricks to make the hotspot work.

There are a few ways to go if you are rooted. Many people use the Xposed framework with the Xposed Xtether plug in. Have you tried FoxFi?

You may want to look at Jcases Sunshine it costs $25.00 to unlock the phone if it works, but nothing if it can't unlock it. Once unlocked you can you can always get real root access not tethered root.

even with temp root, you can adjust your build.prop to make it fly.  I use esfile explorer since it has root explorer and an editor in one. Just know that if you screw something up, not being unlocked, you may softbrick requiring a reflashing of the system partition.  You would adjust the line that says net.tethering.noprovisioning=false to net.tethering.noprovisioning=true .  You also need to rename the files in system/priv-app VZWEntitlementServices.apk and VZWEntitlementServices.odex to VZWEntitlementServices.apk.bak and VZWEntitlementServices.odex.bak  Restart the device and you should be good.

Thinks livinginkaos this looks good but were do you find the line that says  net.tethering.noprovisioning=false and i tried to rename the other two but keep saying operation failed. What did do wrong?

In the es file explorer you have to make sure in settings that it is using root access.  There is a check box for it.
