I couldn't find a topic on this board about this issue, but it's being discussed elsewhere. I am now on my second razr (because of this issue). The behavior of the touchscreen is schizophrenic at best. Some days it's just fine, some days it wont register touches without a reboot, some days I'll touch P on the swype keyboard just to have it activate the pulldown menu. Anyone else having this strange behavior? My first Razr always did it, and it got worse with time. I finally exchanged it for another one that I received Monday. I've tried most of the ROMs posted, and official / UNofficial leaked OTAs....seems nothing software makes a difference at this point. Currently running rooted .174. Anyone else? Would like to have some documentation from other users when I go back to big red demanding yet another one, then another one, then finally a different handset. I love this phone (coming from an iphone, and I was a fanboy lol) but if I can't type properly on it, it's usefulness to me is nearly moot.

Never had this issue. I do notice that if you hover over something about 1/16 an inch that it will register it. Ive gone through a few razrs but never touch screen issues.

The only times I have ever had issues with the screen/buttons was when I used a crappy screen protector, when I got a big greasy spot on the screen texting while cooking, and after doing a water test before using some compressed air to blow out the water stuck under the menu button. My phone sees 4+ hours of use by my hands every day between camera, texting, playing some games, and other random usage.

The only time I have screen issues is on the pattern lock screen occasionally.

I've had this same issue, it's beyond annoying. The seemingly random nature of it is probably the most frustrating part.

And it's not specific to any build/ROM, I've experienced it fresh out of an RSD run.

Sounds like I'm not the only one with the problem. Ugh. I'm guessing even if I raised enough h3ll with VZW to try and get into a MAXX I'd have the same issues since it's basically the same hardware. Choices are try another (and another and another) razr, fight and try to get into either a nexus or rezound, or deal with it? *shoots self in foot*

I would not recommend getting a rezound, i have heard nothing but bad things. Just a thought. If and only IF you decide to leave the Razr which i wouldnt do, cosndiering i have never had that problem with the touchscreen, I would go with the nexus, and even then the nexus is just barely on par with the Razr. I have never had any touchscreen issues on the Razr, my droid X on the other hand had tons of touchscreen issues so maybe it is a Moto thing and you have gotten the short end of the stick.

Are any of you using an aftermarket charger? I know they will "F" with the screen and make it useless. Just asking to make sure that it's an actual phone problem. I know that I have used a old OG Droid charger with mine because I couldn't find my OEM charger and I couldn't use the phone at all until I unplugged it from the OG Droid charger.

I use multiple chargers, one from my old droid x, one from my old LG Dare, and one from my brothers Pantech something or other, they all have the same socket so i figured what the hell lol, and no problems thus far. The only problem i have seen is that some of them do not allow me to use them for USB mass storage.

Ok I was just making sure, some chargers for whatever reason just dont play nice. But I have used my OG , Xoom , and Razr usb on my computer and never have had a problem ...........I couldn't tell you which one belongs to what anymore.
