So I made this topic over on xda, and got no feedback whatsoever. But I figured I'd share it over here, where at least I know it'll be seen by our awesome devs! This may not be possible at all due to the eFuse check or a number of other factors, and I have no idea how complex it is. But its worth a shot!

I'll admit, this presentation is a little over my head, but it discusses the possibility of booting a linux kernel directly on a device, somehow skipping the bootloader altogether. I'm not that familiar with the various components of the bootloader and how exactly it does its thing, but he breaks it down and talks about doing this on the OMAP platform. Just thought this could be useful food for thought for some of our devs? I understand this is an oversimplification, but maybe someone can get some useful ideas from it. I'll try to give what input I can, but again this is slightly over my head at this point.
