So i have just purchased another razr online, i want to put in on my wifes line, she currently has a thunderbolt, as most know the sim in the bolt is bigger than the one in the razr. So i go online to change phones, i enter meid, it is cleared and ready to be activated, it tells me that the sim is different size would i like to order one. I say yes, then it gives me an error and tries to take me off my family plan, and say's that the 4g phone i'm adding is not eligable.... so i call customer serv, after about 45 min, they finally tell me that they cannot send me a micro sim card for that line, as i currently have a razr on that line. i tell them i know i dont, i have a tbolt wich is a 4g phone. they say o, ok then just power down both phones and swap sim over... I say. ok, once again, the sims are a different size, i need a micro sim for that line so i can put it into my new razr. so for like the 5th time on hold, we cant sed you a micro sim, because you dont have an active razr on that line. You will have to go to a local store.
The problem with that is that there is no local store, i live 50 min from a vzw store, why should i way's half a day driving an hour there and hour back, and spending lord knows how long at the store! Why cant they just send me a new sim?

And yes i know i can just cut down the thunderbolt sim and make it work, but why shoud i have to do that? I pay 250 a month for our account, and have been with vzw for as long as i can remember. I dont understand the problem. Has anyone else encountered anything like this?

Also when i took that line from a droid 2 to the thunderbolt, they where super happy to mail me a 4g sim card for it, so what is the problem now?..?

vent away....but I would called again get someone else to talk to then explain the problem and see if they are nicer

After several talks with Verizon I have learned one thing that keeps me pretty calm talking to them. They can only do what they are allowed / what the computer allows. You have to talk to the correct person to get somethings done. After getting frustrated over and over I figured this out. Call back explain your story again (most frustrating part for me. ...) then ask for a supervisor. Be nice but assertive and get it done. Enjoy your new phone!

Agreed, just go to a VZW store and they'll give you a new one, usually for free.

But the problem with driving was that he is 50 miles away from a store. it would be cheaper to buy one off a website

Can i just buy one and have it linked to account? That would be great! And yes the problem is the driving out there. It would literally waist half my day.

Half your day? Is the speed limit 25 the whole 50 miles? Or maybe you just drive like a grandma.

Depends where they live... for example I was in West Virginia last year and its only 15 miles as the crow flies between a couple towns but took almost 2 hours to get to it because I had to drive all they way around the mountain to get there. Just because the GPS says its only x amount of miles from your location doesn't mean that's the road mileage lol.

Lol no not like a granny. Although ya bout 3 hour round trip if traffic is great. N last time i was @ vzw store for a case it was 2 n half hour wait. That was for a case. This will be for a new micro sim on my line for a phone i didnt buy from them, so im sure they will also try sell me every accessory they have... so yup i say half a day easy.

So just a follow up.
After several calls to vzw... several long uneventful calls. I had decided to just make the trip. However my wife says, just call one more time. So i call and im off the phone within 3 minutes with a new micro sim on the way! Lol after several 45 min to an hour convo's. I call state i want to go from tbolt to razr, and he jumps right in and says, ok but you'll have to get a different sim card, i can mail you one or you can go to local vzw store. I ask for mail, get placed on hold for 30 sec and he comes back on and tells me ill get an email to track! Express my deepest gratitude get off phone, and immediately get email from vzw.
I just don't understand why this couldn't have happened the first time. Didn't even have to explain why i didn't wanna go to store..
Anyway, point is it will be hear Monday. So all is well in the world of shizumie!
