For our second staff interview, I decided to go with our often imitated, never duplicated, life of the party; tucstwo!

What device(s) do you currently have (Development or otherwise)?
Right now I have my daily driver Samsung Galaxy S3, recently reacquired Droid Razr (XT912), a Nexus 7, a Kindle Fire (og), a Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 and a Nook HD+ (my "sisters", but I mess around with it )

What got you started in the Android community?
Like a lot of folks I started reading on Android forums on XDA, but I would never consider myself an XDA community member. I would say, I really never cared much about it until I joined up here early last year. And I would say there are people I know on Droidrzr better than people I know in real life. Heck, until recently, I haven't even had a Razr for nearly 5 months, but I still live here. This is my community

Since you started in the Android community, what has been your favorite device that you've had, why?
My Nexus 7 is my favorite. Even though it has pretty much just been on Paranoid Android since I've had it. It's my favorite because I can do ANYTHING I want to it without fear of breaking it. The unlocked bootloader is a blast. I know I can always plug it in, hit my CMD line and flash everything back to stock. There's a good amount of development support behind it. I get all the latest Android updates with in a week of Google releasing them. It's the only device I have that is officially on 4.2.1 (and booting beautifully). They make some pretty Nasty kernels for it. My only gripe with it is the screen size, I'd prefer to have a larger screen. (N10 here I come? LOL)

Who do you look up to in the Android community, anyone who has really helped you out?
I look up to the new guy with a relentless appetite for learning. Anyone can sign up on a forum, make a thread that just says, "Help me, I don't know what I'm doing" and get a response of people giving them step by steps. But nah, that ain't me. I prefer to go the extra mile to teach someone who really wants to learn. Not just the people who say, "How do you do this?" but the guy (or gal) who says, "How do you do this, why do you do this, how does it work and how can I make it better or easier for the next guy?" I look up to the noob who knows nothing about Android but will spend as much time as it takes reading, asking questions and helping others (I learned a lot of stuff while trying to help out other people). Young Android Scholars: Keep it up, you inspire me.

How did you learn about modding and development (Did someone walk you through how ROMs are set up? Trial and error? Online Resource?)
This kind of relates to my answer from your last question. I learned about modding and development from reading, reading and then reading some more. I also am the type to just try something. If it works, awesome, if it don't work, oh well, let's go try something else. This is not to discredit the dozens of people who have helped walk me through stuff. There are too many people to even list who have taken the time to do something as simple as just give me a link to a resource or spend 3 hours going over something with me. This forum and many others have helped me learn what I have learned already, and I am HARDLY professional. I am novice AT BEST. To me, there is still SO much more to learn. I read about something new everyday.

You're on a desert island and you can only have three (3) apps on your phone from the market, what would they be (Does not include SS or ROMs, and you have 4G)?
Well, I guess I can cheat and say Chrome, that covers email, Tapatalk, and a host of other apps I use. While it would be pretty crappy to have to do some things in a browser, I guess it's better than not having them at all. Gtalk, cause gotta stay connected. And SiriusXM radio (Need my Howard Stern fix or I'd go stir crazy).

What do you do in your spare time for fun?
HA! You're lookin' at it! No but seriously, I enjoy managing this amazing community and awesome forum. Many don't realize just how much work and time is put into keeping this place as awesome as it is. There is a team of amazing and dedicated people who selflessly invest a lot of time into our little corner of the interwebs. I'm also very much into mountain biking, I like playing Minecraft, I like Rubik's cubes (or any "twisty" puzzle), I like spending time with my children (I have four, 11 yr old boy, twin 6 year old daughters and a 3 year old daughter), I'm a die hard NY Giants fan (shut up, we'll be back), and that's about it. It's safe to say between work, this forum and my family, I have to really balance the rest of the things I enjoy as there just isn't enough time in the day.

With all the talk about new technologies this year, what are you looking forward to in the Android community this year?
If the Motorola X rumors are true, sign me up for 2! Beyond that, I thought the flexible screens that Samsung showed a CES was a pretty awesome piece of technology that could have a million of uses. But who know's how far away that technology it. I also think it's safe to say we're going to see a lot more quad-core stuff, which will be awesome. These phones are just getting more and more powerful and the software is doing a pretty good job at keeping up. So I'm excited to see where Android goes this year. I think this is gonna be a big year for Android as the cell phone tech has REALLY caught up to technology as a whole. Guess we'll all just have to wait and see.
