Just filed mine last night using Turbo Tax. Both state and fed. I owe the state :(

First time I've ever filed on my own. Usually I use H&R Block b/c I sometimes travel for work and I buy a lot of ammo so I can stay sharp b/c we have to qualify w/ our firearms to keep our job. So I'm able to deduct ammo expenses. With that said, I didn't buy enough ammo this year :( to justify itemizing so I just had a basic EZ1040 to fill out.

Relatively painless with being single, head of household, and no children. Getting a decent chunk back from the fed and I'm putting it towards paying off my car...as much as I want to put a 3" lift on it and some 33" tires lol.

I used to be this way, til this year. My taxes are pretty simple and I didn't feel like paying the $2-300 they would charge me at H&R. It wasn't that bad actually. Just took a wee bit of time.

TurboTax calculator was wayyyyy off for me. It said I would get back around $3800...ended up getting back $1800 lol.

Just filed federal since we're getting some money back. Owe $15 for state, so will do that sometime soon. I always have to remind my wife that if not much has changed from the past couple years (marriage, kids, buying house, etc), one really does not want a big refund. Because that means the government has been holding your money with no return on it.

Filed in January. Got federal refund last week, broke even on state. Gotta love the military tax breaks, my home state does not collect taxes for military members and there is always a refund from federal, no matter what I do.
