Does anyone have any idea why I am getting a message "cannot check for updates try again later.." when i check for update. And I have not received the update.?

Are you on 6.11.748 or on 6.12.173? If on 6.12.173 that's normal because its the latest. If you are on 6.11.748 you can manually download and install from the file from

Likely the update server is swamped. I was able to download immediately, however one of my co-workers got this message for ~2 hours while trying to force the update, and another still had been getting it until the end of the day on Friday.

I got it a couple times on the last update. But, toggling data a bit fixed it for me. I had to RSD and I'm downloading .173 now so...

I had been getting this message all week. Today I called vzw tech assistance and they called Motorola who said my device wasn't active on the Motorola servers. So they told me to do a hard reset ans reactivate the phone. I did. And received the update no problem.
