Looking through the build.prop, saw this line

##### Override in cdma_spyder.mk until LTE + Global support. ######

Is the LTE radio capable of the frequencies of UMTS? That line to me would suggest they are working on a method to turn these into global phones. Then again, it could be intended for yet another hardware variation.

I would bet not global roaming with GSM, but maybe the ability to roam off of a global companies LTE when it is available.

Now anther thought could be the fact that the Droid 4 is a global based device and the Stock OS is probably the same or very much the same as the RAZR with minor changes here and there.

I see no reason to doubt it so much, after all, LTE is a GSM technology. So the LTE radio is in fact a GSM radio, just has different spectrums/bands. I'm not sure what all differences there are and what is necessary to make international gsm bands work, but it is within the realm of possibility.

They figured out how to make the Rezound global, and the Droid 4 and GSM Razr both use nearly identical hardware and have international GSM roaming capabilities. I'm not saying it can be done, the radio hardware may be different, or the extra bands disabled physically, but its certainly worth looking into. We'll just have to see once we get these bootloaders unlocked.

That being said, again as LTE is a GSM technology, the lines you see may simply be referring to this.
