Well this was a huge shock to me and likely a shock to you as well. Today Verizon posted software update documents for the HTC Thunderbolt and will be updating the device to Android 4.0.4 (Ice Cream Sandwich).

This certainly is good news for the owners who still have the device. It's about time that HTC came through on their self-imposed deadline of August for this update. Hopefully the extra six months HTC had will pay off in this case. Some have been able to pull it already, so if you have one still, you should certainly check it out.

The build reads in as software version 7.02.605.06 and is 395MB in size.

Thank god. My gf is still stuck with this phone (her mom too) and is having issues lately. Looks like a wipe and then install ICS! She lives an hour away so I haven't had time to root it and put a stable ROM on it for her unfortunately.
