So I finally went into verizon store. The first thing I saw was the maxX. Like I say I must be spoiled because all I could think of was how fat that phone is. If it were in high school it would be picked last on every gym team. It really is quite noticeable. And after seeing it I'm sure that I don't want it.

Next was the droid 4 - also a heffer. Whoever thought this was a razr with a keyboard needs an eye exam. It's shorter with a smaller screen. It's fatter and made of cheap plastic.

Now as for the great nexus- a great big phony. Plastic and slow. I ran a benchmark app and it scored 20% slower than the stock razr. I must be spoiled.

Lol I would love to have a maxx. that 3300 mah battery would so be worth it. .and the camera at the top is the same width
In my Ferocious convictions, and in-dominant belief in my own actions, it would be a great advantage to anyone's interest who lay with mine..... Vanten Kiest

I sure as hell wasn't spoiled before this.

My Rezound, with extended battery and no case, was around 19mm thick.

My Razr Maxx, with the thinner high gloss silicone case, is just 8.99mm, and weighs much less than the rezound (while having more battery life).

Had a Razr. Gave it to the wife and bought a Maxx because I can't get through a shift on my Razr.

RAZR No Longer.  Currently running the LG G2 and HTC One (M8)

Time for Moto to update the line!

I just got the Razr maxx delivered to my apartment yesterday. We are already expecting twins.
Seriously though. The regular razr was a nice novelty, but to awkward to hold. The 4 has a really nice keyboard, but that's about it. Hard to believe all the hype it got over just the keyboard.

If you saw the MAXX and couldn't get over how fat it was, you're doing something wrong. I wonder what phone you had before the RAZR that made you think the RAZR was just normal thickness? Sure, its thicker than our phones, but not by much, and its still thinner than most everything else. I too would love a Maxx, and will probably upgrade it myself when the parts become available if they're cheap enough.

I really do think the Razr is the nicest hardware on VZW right now, but Moto is a far cry from ideal in terms of software. I agree with those who say that manufacturers should open-source their drivers, have unlockable bootloaders, and post AOSP source-code (which they already have and use for their eng builds) for each device. So yes, I think its better hardware than the Nexus, but I certainly like the Nexus as well. I can understand wanting to justify your purchase by saying everything else is crap, I did that with the Charge for awhile, but its rather narrow-minded and we should all just be happy that we have the choice of a number of great devices on VZW, software restrictions aside.
