So I really like this phone. N love the fact that its unlocked. But I'm a liitle worried about storage. My max has buku space and I have several apps on my 64gb SD card. If it had at least more storage it b a no brainer.
So just wondering your thoughts . has limited storage hindered you? Have you ran into insufficient storage when updating /installing apps? Thanks

Droid Razr Maxx with a 64 gb microsd card.. its nearly full and yes even when it was 28gb full i was still considering if and what i should put on... always weighing the options of streaming vs storage.

but storage has always been a massive limitation on these devices. and with flash memory and ROM capacities becoming larger and larger it makes me wonder why we dont have heavier devices with 128 gb we have the technology but sure its a bit more expensive. however can you imagine the price you could charge for such a monster...
with todays quad core cpus running smoothly at 1.5 ghz to 2.1ghz 2-4 gb ram and massive storage along with a decent screen we literally will have replaced mobile computing with smartphones. Storage and ram seem to be the biggest brick walls we have.

My thoughts as well. I no they are trying to sell the cloud storage, but come on. I use cloud and will continue to use it. This does not however negate my need for on board storage. The space for pics/video isn't that big a deal when I'm close to home. But what about when I'm off, and maybe signal isn't that great for cloud, or battery is low and phone doesn't wanna upload anything. I'll be buying off contract outright, to keep my data. So I'll be paying above and behind what I consider a reasonable price. So u add another hundred or so for massive storage and I'll go along.
Man I want this phone. But really just don't know if its fees able with what 11gb of usable storage....

yeah i understand .. I couldnt function right now with less storage. PC repair and cell tech support I have most of my files including a bootable iso on my sd card. I WONT change from unlimited. and I wont take a device that doesnt have external storage options. its that simple

Kelly and I both will soon have the Note 2 .. She already does and its lasting her all day.. even in the DLAR at her work (department of live animal research) its built like a signal proof bomb shelter. and she has a 64 gb card as well. we are sticking to our unlimited like crazy.. .we consume about 40 gb a month. she works on the bus to and from work using logmein to start setting up for video tracking and monitoring the lab before she gets in. these are significant data consumers that smart phones were first built to handle. however i think its now on carriers to allow for further innovation. without the ability to confidently use the data that we so desperately want, we wont be able to use these devices as they were first intended.

64 gb I say soon will be a must in most high end devices with Expandable storage. 32 in midrange. this 16 gb seperated into system and then user storage has to end. if thats the case add in an extra setup for storage. we have it in computers all the time. dedicated drives for just the OS. not just partitions. we know android can make use of it. why not a 4gb for system. and then 16 gb for storage. or 32. the tech is there the ability is there. marketing and function needs to make a play.

I have not had an issue with storage on mine. Have about 50 apps and 6 gb of music on there. Granted I am not a big gamer or vid watcher. In my opinion the trade off of storage for a killer phone has been well worth it

Not an issue at all for me....takes a few seconds to swap a movie or two over from my pc to phone or vice versa if need be....11 gig is plenty if you use it wisely.

well we got bored and made the jump. We will try them out and see how it goes. I will say this, the phone is very pleasing. I do hate the storage loss. I travel out of country and its not alway's easy to pop on the laptop to swap things over, so the masive storage on my maxx was very nice. But i do like the phone so i will give it a go. I wish i new for sure vzw was getting the butterfly, its essentially the same phone with micro sd. If so (and its also unlockable) i will be swapping to it more than likely. either way its something new and refreshing. I will post back more as i go and explore and run into storage problems/solutions.
Thanks to all for the input and thoughts. :)
