I started getting ads in my notification bar. I can download adfree and I'm sure it will stop but I'm trying to find the cause. Only new apps I have are Juice Defender, battery monitor widget and convo (which I deleted because I thought it was the problem, but this message showed up this morning). I recently installed Eclipse 1.0 but I know our devs wouldn't add this but just in case the info is needed.

Any ideas on how I can find the culprit?

I'd attach the screen shot but I guess I'm over my limit for uploads. (fixed)

Download air push detector or addons detector from the market. Either one will show you the guilty app or apps. Had this one time and it ended up being a Go Launcher theme.

If you figure out what app is doing it, please let us know so we can try to avoid the same annoyance. I hope you get it resolved.

I have had to deal with this a lot from certain developers of free games. We should put together a 'blacklist' of developers that do this.

I read an article on Currents (don't remember what sites feed it was) that was talking about this gaining prevalence.

The free mp3 program does this as well. It's always a 3rd party app

You can download and disable AirPush ads with the app from Market. It will tell you which apps have them. :)

Last time this happened to me, it was one of the ICS themes for GO Launcher. After I uninstalled, it went away.

This is where I would tell you which ROM I'm running, but I probably just flashed something else.

I have been using kodev's ICS for Go Launcher for a while with no issues. What developers version of ICS were you using?
