I have been talking for a while now about having a contest or giveaway for our awesome Bionic guys. I have a lot of admiration for these guys for sticking with a device that has been a lot of trouble due to lack of support from Motorola. There is almost something mysterious about the Droid Bionic. The Bionic community took a crappy situation and have made more than the best out of it. On top of all that, they are some of the most colorful members that I have met. Always with chins held high and in good spirits regardless of what negativity has been thrown their way. It's been enough to get me shopping for a Bionic for myself to see what the mystery truly is lol.
With all that said and with the help of livinginkaos, we have been able to start compiling things for a giveaway. This is in huge part to livinginkaos himself too so please send a thanks his way. Below is a list of items for the first of what I hope to be many giveaways. Thanks to all of our Bionic community for being part of the site, being who you are, and really bringing a great atmosphere to Droidrzr.com.

What has made me stick with it? To be completely honest, untapped potential. I knew that during the Gingerbread era, both CPU cores weren't even being fully utilized. I also knew that essentially, under the hood, it was a member of the RAZR device family. I wasn't about to repurchase the exact same thing I already owned in a slightly different package.
At this point, I've got ahold of a GNex as well, thinking about turning that into my daily driver. But the Bionic will stay around. I want to see what they do with Jelly Bean. And, I plan to activate/use the Bionic whenever I am in a situation where I absolutely NEED to be able to count on my device. I have come to trust the Bionic that much. So i'd have absolutely no problem with winning an extended battery OR a lapdock.
If my name is chosen as a winner for the Otterbox, please pass me by and draw the next name. I already have a Defender for my Bionic as well as several pieces from warranty replacements. Belt clips always seem to break, and they always seem to replace with an entire new case.
By the way, for those who DO win the Otterbox, I can't recommend a case more than this one. It has protected against MANY hard impacts, not all of them accidental. I'd go as far as to say you'd need to really TRY to destroy a Bionic in a Defender.
I chose the Bionic because it had the same specs as the RAZR (I got it right after the RAZR came out) and it had a removable battery. Pulse it's the one Droid to rule them all. Muhhhaahahaha

I hear you there. The removable battery would have drawn me to the Bionic even if it HAD released after the RAZR. I got a hell of a deal on my "new" GNex and even for only $50 wouldn't have done it if the battery wasn't removable.
For me it was the fact that the Bionic was the first dual core, LTE phone on Verizon's network. Moto radios, sdcard, removable battery. What's not to love? Why stick with it? That's easy. That House of Bionic thing has really made this phone a joy to work with. ROFLMAO!
For me, this is the reason I will likely hold onto my Bionic forever (my buddy was just going to turn it into VZW, so we went back to the original $50 deal since I really WANT to keep the Bionic). It's a nostalgia thing for me, I made the mistake of giving up my OG Droid and that left me heartbroken *LOL* As much as I beotched about the OS on the Bionic, I have ALWAYS been a fan of the hardware; and it's actually one of the best VZW phones I've ever had (only the venerable Moto v710 and Moto e815 could compare as well as the OG - notice the common Moto theme?).
Plus, with the fact that even an extended warranty/insurance replacement will put one out of a phone for a couple of days, it's always nice to have a spare device compatible with the plan you are on. The Bionic and GNex use different type SIMs, but they can be activated with the online device swapper. I just typed in the code number off of the GNex's micro SIM and I was good to go about 10 minutes after the first boot up. Verdict still out on whether or not I like it better than the Bionic, the soft nav keys can be inconsistent and sometimes don't respond. The Otterbox is probably not helping in this regard.
Not to mention that with my $3 microHDMI cable, I can use it as a retro gaming console on the cheap. I should invest in a decent mobile Bluetooth game controller.

Its been more than enough phone for my needs. Despite being Big Red's ugly stepchild, I'll probably hang on to it past tradeup time and let a couple more generations of Punit's phones hit the street before I'd consider upgrading.

And about a yr. Ago during a service call at a new customers house I complained about not having service with Verizon. And she went on a long rant that ended with me buying the bionic, lapdock, HD dock for $100. It satisfied that disappointment from buying the dx2 and the community here makes the phone totally worth having.

1. SD card, just in case I need the extra space (0/1 I now know that 32gb is more than enough for me)
2. VZW was running a double data promotion with no announced end date that I didn't want to miss and the Nexus didn't have a set release date (0/2 I have enough wifi access that 2gb would have been enough for me)
3. I liked the nexus for ICS, specifically the browser with up to 16 tabs (0/3 There's a dozen different browser choices so this really didn't matter at all), but
4. Based on speculation that I didn't know enough not to trust, I expected ICS on the bionic in Q1 2012, and a ~2 month wait was worth it to make sure I got all that other stuff (Uhh, big 0/4 on that one).
Despite all that, I've enjoyed the phone, plus I never would have found this community if I got the nexus, so knowing what I know now I'm glad I made the choice I did.

I'm a tech geek for sure, but my first priority is being a dad. I had an absolutely awful experience with the Charge with regards to its radios which put me in the precarious position with not being able to be reached reliably. I couldn't have that, and was scared to go anywhere but Moto who has a great reputation for radios.
I still struggled. I wanted the Gnex so badly because I'm a geek and having unadulterated Android available. Another big thing for me was the camera. The Nexus's camera is terrible and I wanted to best capture those awesome kid moments that happen on a whim.
So the Nex was out. Between the Bionic and the Razr, it was a bit of a no brainer for. I love love love my extended battery. I basically do whatever I want with my phone and it lasts me the day. Burn through videos, jack the brightness, leave bluetooth on...it doesn't matter.
My wife doesn't get my love for this phone. She's looking to upgrade her iPhone 4 at first opportunity and is wondering why, for the first time ever, that I'm not the one pushing for us to go ahead and upgrade. She laughs at its huge size with the extended battery and the associated case, but its so functional that I don't care. The Bionic is the perfect screen size at 4.3 inches. The screen size arms race has me kind of turned off. We're also reaching the point where the correlation between upgraded hardware and software performance is leveling off. I've messed with Hashcode's Jelly Bean builds and as soon as we get working BT and camera, this phone will be perfect for me. It does everything that I throw at it (ICS is no slouch but Project Butter is so nice).
So I love the Bionic because it does what I need it to. It doesn't do everything that I want, which is receive up-to-the-minute Android updates from Google. But my phone fills a need first and is a hobby second, and the Bionic takes care of those needs as well as anything on the market.
