I contacted VZW about my ridiculous days speeds of under 1mb on download. I just got off the phone with Verizon and apparently there is an alert on the 173 update with data connectivity. The update is slowing phones down and messing with connections. Just fyi from what I just was told from VZW

DUDE I thought something was wrong with my phone. I have noticed the same thing, great connectivity but terrible speed. Hope this gets resolved soon.

There were a lot of reports of this during the soak test too. I have noticed a lot of data issues in the past few days myself but thought it was just my phone.

I can confirm they use a different CDMA radio than 173 in all of the patches for 173 we've seen from Motorola (174-177) so far.
Are your speed problems on LTE or CDMA?

I can confirm that speeds are .40- .50 mb on both lte and cdma. And the Netflix issue is also present over Wi-Fi in my experience

Yep. .4-.5 on 4g and 3g. Crazy how they put out an update claiming better radio connection and our speeds are cut by like 1000%

I've been saying this all along (search my posts on here) that .173 has royally screwed over my signal strengths and getting constant data drops when .748 it was much much better. So much for them claiming to "improve LTE radios".

No issues here. Speeds are still around 10 down and 6 up which has been the norm in my area since I got my RAZR in November. Also, switched over to cdma only and getting the norm on that radio too... about 1.25 down and just less than 1 up. These speeds are consistent with prior to any updates.

Hmm. I just did several speed tests. 23+ Mb/sec download on WiFi. The best 4G LTE download time matched that. 6+ Mb/sec upload on WiFi (capped by my cable plan). Best 4G LTE time was similar. On 748, both download and upload speeds on 4G LTE were around 11 Mb/sec. (That's megabits/sec, not megabytes. Excuse me if I'm using the wrong case for "b".) 3 of 5 bars signal indicator, -75 dBm. Several consecutive runs will show GREAT differences in speeds.

ADDENDUM: 850 kbps download, 110 kbps upload on 3G.

Can the radio patch be packaged as a separate flash? And if it makes things worse, can it be easily undone (without fastbooting)?

I'm thinking of fast booting back to 748 and checking my speeds on that

I just ran a test with a weak 4G signal on my rooted droid maxx running 173. 20 meg down 9 meg up. Seems ok.

My LTE download speeds are good 20mb download and 15 upload. However 3G is low. 0.5 mb

It must be something with how 173's radio works with 4g in different areas. I've only had 173 since shortly after activation so I've got no other radio install to compare to, but my speeds have been consistently high. If I stand near a window and run a speed test I get >30Mbps down and >10Mbps up. Maybe there aren't many other 4g users around yet - in fact if I search for 4g coverage on Verizon's site it shows as unavailable in my area.
