So there is a few threads in here trying to explain how to install Swype beta on your phone and they are very cool and nerdy, but unessential.... here is the easiest (confirmed working) way.

1. Install Rom toolbox from the market
2. Open Rom Toolbox and select "App Manager"
3. select the "all Apps" tab and search for Swype (it will be between the R's and T's) lol
4. Press down on the swype application and select uninstall
5. download swype beta any way that makes you fancy in the pantsies and install it.

Congrats. the easiest way to get swype beta working on the always sexy, droid razr.

(Warning, this will make it so you cant OTA without fastbooting the phone...qq to you.)

I'm not one to nit pick about such things as I am a hardware guy and not a developer... but developers seem to overlook the fact that the stock swype is part of the carrier bloatware...If they advertise a product as "de-bloated," they should just remove it all together.

(Droid Razr Maxx running Eclipse v1.2)
(Droid X running CM7)
(Blackberry Bold-->forwarding calls to the Razr) lol

They do the extra step of replacing the backup file instead of just deleting the application and installing it. Its confusing to some people and an unnecessary step.

Thanks for the write up. Beats manually deleting Swype files, rebooting, and installing beta!
