Ok guys I need some serious help! Ive had my razr since december and i immediately rooted it. i then started flashing roms and what not. Just a few days ago i got a little bored and decided i wanted to go back to stock and check the 6.12.173 update. Well at first it wouldnt install after numerous attempts so i said screw ill just fast boot it. Did not work. then decided to try rsd. tried it with rsd lite. no good. then did the command line method. it seemed like that worked. well on initial boot after that my phone could not get service. so i tried to do a factory reset. now i am stuck at the android setup and it is telling me to please wait this may take a few minutes. well ive been waiting for about 45 minutes now. Please anybody help me!!

I would recommended using Matt's razr utility in the development section. Option 1 will replace everything from stock system to recovery and radios. It'll get you working again, that's for damn sure.

After doing a fast boot try immediately doing a factory reset as well. I have always done these steps an have had no issues going stock.

Factory reset wipes the /Data and /Cache partitions from the internal, so partially yes but not the full card.

In other words nothing really important. It won't hurt any of your files. Cache files are easily rebuilt by the phone.

Stuff you've downloaded yourself or put there will stay there.

Depends what you call important. That includes app data.

Exactly. I have never lost anything important from my internal SD card when I have done this. When I first got the RAZR and came to the site, I was helping Bignadad test a theme and had to fast boot/factory reset 4 times in a row one night. But was up and running again in no time with nothing missing from my internal SD card that I needed.

Like Thach said..

Not on the internal SD. Which if I'm understanding right is what raijin is worried about.
App data is in /data not /sdcard.

If you do a factory yes you will have to redownload/restore apps and set them up. But you won't lose things like pictures, songs, etc.

Is it the equivalent of restoring apps via TiBu minus the data restore?

Yep. You're just missing the apps and your set up. Takes a little time but an easy fix. :)
