So, I loaded the new update today...noticed two things:

1. Razr is talking a LONG time to charge
2. Razr is getting pretty warm while charging

Any suggestions?

Thanks,
Chief

Did you root yet?? Might try a factory reset before you root. Should not be getting warm.

No, haven't rooted yet. So, should I do a factory reset and then try rooting?

That's what I'd recommend. As Memnoch said, you definitely shouldnt be getting hot. I forced the OTA today (long story, went all the way back to unbrick, then loaded the leak, then rooted, the loaded to soak version) and after all that, my battery was at about 40%. Put it on the charger, was reading as fully charged about 2-3 hours later and it's a MAXX.

Best bet it to factory wipe it and see what that does. Rooting won't really get you anywhere as far as this issue and since the root method works on the the soak version also, you dont need to worry about preserving it through any updates.

Well, looks like the problem is back....my phone started getting really hot a couple of hours ago. Up to 104* and won't go down unless I turn the phone off.

Any suggestions?

So there is an official jb release out? What does this mean for those of us who took it in December? Fortunately I did keep root. But from What i understand this was not the full release in December.

Its the soak test for jb. So different version but still not final release either. That's the way I understand it anyway ;)

I believe that the version that was sent out Thursday/Friday is the official version. Atleast Motorola and Verizon have made it official.

For the people that took the OTA in December, there is a 40MB update file which will be pushed out, or can be flashed. It can be found around, if you cannot find it let me know.

Every time I hear about the battery getting hot etc like that, it usually turns out to be a hardware issue..

The soak test version, will be final. Not really much of a chance that it wont be. No real issues with it other than it isn't a JB kernel.Plus the soak test is over. I would bet that it will be released later this week as Official code. Which I personally think is a bunch of crap. Plus they should have just taken it to 4.2.2. I am really considering a S4, at least sammy has it together at this point in time.....

That's strange. Might be time for a factory reset??
