Has anyone else been following the Droid X update that is plaguing the X community?

The latest update has rendered the device incapable of RSD or fastboot to ANY version other that this newer version - which has closed existing root exploits.

It's unnerving to think what might be coming in any future Razr update - what do you guys think?

I think... the leaks we currently have have all been rootable and fastbootable. This does add more to the theory that Motorola actually hates its customers.

Loved my X but man that would make me hate the X like no other being completely locked down.

W/ Moto now not being able to sue Apple in Germany, it looks like Moto is taking the ol' "If you can't beat'em, join'em route" and being evil....

What is the new system version for the X? I'm sure that someone will be able to root it. I've nit seen a build yet that stayed unrootable.

meh...just went over to XDA to have a look. Looks like Rootkeeper allows you to retain root, but looks like that update has all kinds of "shenanigan causing issues"

Root keeper does retain it but a close friend of mine didn't know about root keeper prior to the update (I know, I'm a bad friend).
