I did the temporary un root with voodoo OTA root keeper, but somehow it would not return root access. I ran the new root one click that dan made and it just fails. It installs a 2nd super user app that I cannot even uninstall unless I do a factory reset. I read a forum about checking my system -> USR for  "root" files but nothing there.

Anyone that can help would be greatly appreciated! I have read a lot of posts with people having somewhat similar issues but nothing has worked yet. Can I go back to the JB version using the matt groff tool?

Thanks,

asandler

Is your bootloader unlocked?? If so there is a zip floating around that you can flash in a thread about the update.

If not I'm sorry to say you are SOL at this time.  :(

Also do not use Matt's tool unless your bootloader is unlocked.

I am actually not sure if it is unlocked, my phone is unlocked but I'm not sure about the boot loader. How do I check? When I load to fastboot it says status locked

Thanks,

you go. Follow the info in this post. Also note after installing recovery TWRP or CWM, power off phone and then immediately boot into recovery. IF you don't do it in that order the Moto recovery will overwrite on re-boot

Status locked means your boot loader is locked.

Thanks for the help, but this didn't work. I did read to try option #1 on the razr blade utility. This wiped the phone clean and still came back as 4.1.2 with superuser installed. But somehow managed(I didn;t think this was possible) to re-lock the bootloader from the fast boot screen. Am I screwed or is there some other way I can regain root? Is there a way to uninstall superuser when not rooted, or to root with superuser installed?
