Chances are you damaged a connector on the battery.. possibly where you have to unscrew its connector to remove it...

it was in boot loop so removed back cover to remove battery and put back in then it said cant charge battery use genuine motorola battery, later on batt went dead and phone shut off and now it will not charge at all
Pressing Vol Down + Power does a forced shutdown at any time, no need to pull the battery. The only appropriate times to remove the battery from the RAZR is if a MAXX upgrade kit is made available, or if you are on year 4 and the battery is wearing out. Sounds like your only hope now, is to tear it back apart, inspect the connectors for damage/interference, and be sure to re-assemble it with all the connections being nice and snug. Take care to look for hazing on the connectors, as I've seen things as simple as hand lotion left on connectors cause unstable connections. However, be careful when cleaning the connectors to not short them out.

Wow. I've heard that the back cover is not easy to get off either. Any damage marks? Anyway for Verizon to tell that you opened it? If not, run and take it back to the store.
RAZR No Longer. Currently running the LG G2 and HTC One (M8)
Time for Moto to update the line!

Yeah, that is a great idea. Screw up your phone, and let Verizon eat it. Who cares if that increases prices for the rest of us.Wow. I've heard that the back cover is not easy to get off either. You know he damaged the case getting it off. There's no way he can take it back, but if he has insurance, guess what? He gets another one anyway.

Insurance is not meant to cover people taking stuff apart that they have no clue about. It is for if it gets lost or stolen. You know he damaged the case getting it off. There's no way he can take it back, but if he has insurance, guess what? He gets another one anyway.
How do people not get this?
