Although there have been numerous hints of T-Mobile LTE spreading around, T-Mobile has finally launched their LTE network in a few select markets. This is part of an ongoing effort by T-Mobile to enhance their network. They have been preparing their network for the past few months by moving their HSPA+ network to the 1900Mhz band, which opens up AWS band 4 (1700/2100Mhz) for their LTE network. T-Mobile hasn't made this transition fully yet, but are making fast progress.

Launch Markets for T-Mobile LTE:
  • Baltimore, MD
  • Houston, TX
  • Kansas City, MO
  • Las Vegas, NV
  • Phoenix, AZ
  • San Jose, CA
  • Washington D.C.
T-Mobile LTE is said to reach about 100 million people by mid-2013 and 200 million people by 2013's end. T-Mobile is also behind the other larger carriers with their LTE rollout, especially Verizon. Despite this, T-Mobile seems to have a strategy mapped out to keep themselves relevant, pairing their LTE rollout with new plans that kill the contract and merging with MetroPCS. Both giving an edge to T-Mobile's standing.

Baltimore, Massachusetts?

Don't they mean Baltimore, MD? :P

And FWIW, If T-mo honestly thinks they can deploy a 200 MILLION person LTE network by the end of THIS year. I'd consider jumping ship from VZW. My biggest hold up has been the fact that Sprint and AT&T's LTE networks are lame as hell. But 200 million? That's a lot of coverage and quickly.

You never saw that MA ;) And yeah I've read a lot of this switching of spectrum and stuff has already taken place, T-Mo just has to flip a switch. I got LTE on my nexus 4 today in Phoenix, AZ so I'm happy :D
