Sort of off topic at this point, but loading tapa on a new phone and seeing the post about launch day bionics and 905 just so took me back to those sheer headrush days of the ICS leaks and the birth of HoB. Thanks SamuriHL, Timmy10Shoes, and a cast of dozens for one of the most fun summers of my adult life. The friends I made that summer, and the friends that kept me glued together that fall during Soraya's medical crisis define "friends" to me. You know who you are ;-).

Another effective shot today...nearly 200 holes most over 30 ft deep. Took the vid from across Lee Hiway to be able to see it a little better.

Back at it on a chilly breezy Monday...the charges are set at the south end of the remaining ridge with lots of big rocks and red dirt.

The shot today had been planned to include two different areas, but a dozer up on top near the second area locked up its engine, so plans had to change. the first shot from in front of the Honda shop...

Today's shot is on the slope just above the main haul road from the other side of the remaining hill and it was expected that some of the rock and dirt would have to be cleared afterwards. Two passes of the road grader and some work by a dozer was all it took to be back at work.

Fairly extensive shot today working further up the slope on the east side of the hill and getting closer to the rock wall along side the Cabela's parking area on the west side. The verical flare of debris toward the left side of the blast is where some very solid rock exists at the point where the old quarry was located.

Since the recent shots on the south end of the hill (which has a haul road from the other side) are almost completely through, the shot today will start a new ramp/haul road on the north end. They started with a ramp at the bottom that the drills used to prepare this shot.

Big thunderstorm was moving in quick so the equipment was called off the hill just after 10am instead of noon for the Austin Powder folks. If you look close you can see streaks of light to and across the pattern after "Fire in the hole!". Sorry for laughing and jerking the camera...some discussion afterwards about the new mess on the haul road.
