Unfortunately, most of those ads do not support developers. I'm an app programmer, I know. Those ads come through cookies, just like spams on your desktop PC.

So you're trying to say the ads that developers put in applications don't support developers?

:-D :-D

I have used Adfree for about six months. And I change roms about once a week. Adfree has always worked for me flawlessly in two taps every time. I even freeze it after each update of the host file. Needless to say I am rooted. Og Razr. I never see an ad in browser...apps...anywhere on my phone.

So adaway will block ads on YouTube also?

I've never used Adaway. I've read it's good too. I also don't use YouTube at all on my phone so I don't know if Adfree blocks them. Hold up, I guess I can check right now for you.

If I go to Youtube with my browser on my razr with Adfree installed. I see no ad's. I have the Youtube app frozen so I'm not sure about that. You also have to keep in mind that when someone says "Adfree sucks!" that is their experience. Based on how they set it up or what sites they visit. It's also not very helpful because it's not a fact. Fact is I've used it and it works perfectly for me every single time. It WOULD NOT be a fact for me to say it's the best app out there.
My Razr is sharp thanks to Droidrzr.com, I will cut you with it if I must.

Is there a way to prevent adaway from blocking certain apps? Like when I use islick and when I try to click on the link to the deals adaway will block it so that it goes to a dead end page...only way I can see the deal is if I disable asaway

I think all the ad blocking apps were removed. AdFree isn't there anymore either.

All the ad blocking programs work the same way by modifying your host file to redirect certain sites to the destination of your choice. Usually home 127.0.0.1.

You add the app's .com address to the white list. With iSlick (I use it too) you would add cdn.viglink.com to the white list. The white list is in the menu under your lists. This works for other sites that are blocked. If you get a 'could not open' message in your browser, it is usually Adaway. The message will include the .com address you will add to the white list.
