just curious,  have you manually switched the usb mode(s) on your phone? ...... sometimes that will allow the drivers to "completely" install.....you will see a notification in the lower right hand corner of your computer saying "installing device drivers"....... for example: switch the usb mode to MTP, and wait for the drivers to finish installing then switch to camera mode, wait for the drivers to finish installing, then do the same with mass storage mode...... finally reboot your phone into AP Fastboot and wait for the drivers to finish installing...... then reboot both the phone and computer normally :)

try un-installing the Motorola drivers...then, with phone un-plugged, re-install .....(if you need the most current drivers get them here

) .... then plug phone back in and repeat the above process  :)

make sure you are using the Motorola USB cable that came with the phone

also..... try removing the micro sdcard and then replace it..... (not a likely culprit but it cant hurt to try)

Well....:) after trying all that...... I would say now that either you have a hardware issue with the phone.... or something is amiss with your computer.....

my pc was working great before i attached my verizon droid razr maxx for the first time to my pc!!

when i attach my moto defy to pc...it shows in device manager but not in "my computer"...& mtp drivers fails to install!!!

& droid razr maxx works with lapdock & it charges when connected to pc....the thing is that...while connecting to pc, i have to connect the pc end very slowly to start charging, if connected normally no charging either. & while connecting to lapdock, i hv to try atleast 2 times before successful connection.

plz advice something...thanks!

If you have to connect slowly and multiple times ....... sounds more like a hardware problem possibly bad USB port on computer and/or phone

Maybe try a different USB port on your computer..... you can also try in plugging any other USB devices attached to your computer......

Are your USB ports 2.0 or 3.0?

its usb 2.0

need of slowly inserting usb cable is just for droid razr maxx....other usb devices even moto defy, no need of connecting it slowly!

i tried other laptops....same issues!

so i guess i need to get repaired the micro usb port of razr maxx!

but what abt my moto defy issue, not showing anything in 'my computer' but displaying in device manager??

thanks!!
