I have been trying my hand at themeing but I hit a few speed bumps. I cant for the life of me find how to change the backgrounds in an app like Messaging.apk Contacts.apk Settings.apk and a few others. Im trying to black them out for the new ICS leak but I am stuck untill one of you awesome themers reply to this

Also look at framework-res, blur-res, and moto-res.

Theme's are much more time consuming with ICS.

I found the background.png I was looking for it was in Framework_res.apk

Im sure ill run in to more problems along the way. I'm kinda in a bind now with editing app icons and the app will not install unless I move it to system and reboot.

Another thing is I was themeing the Tether Wifi app and a few others to look more like ICS but I think I F@#ked up by editing a .9 png it force closes when I open the app I think im going to give up on this hole theming thing and leave it to you guys

Use apkmultitool to sign your apk's. Google it but I think it's

9patch png's are easy. Just follow one of the guides and use the tool in the sdk/tools folder to start with. Takes 5 minutes to be comfortable.

You can't just edit the png and drop it back in. Let me know if I can help.

If you look at the How to section, I have a walk though with editing images, and it also has apk manager that will allow you to decompile/compile/sign etc

Yup, that's the one I learned off of to make a few themes. Awesome work!
