Thank you and especially thanks to mhous33 - the dst build is just perfect, and clearly created by a skilled individual.

Many thanks.

also, i noticed in the instructions it has the wiping of the phone after the installation. Was that on purpose or have i been wiping after installation all these years for no reason haha?

im trying to re-install it because i didnt have great battery life for what ever reason. Is it recommended to fastboot erase system as well? I tried to do so but got permission denied each time due to a remote failure

If you look at the actual XML file for these devices that is where it is normally at. so the process was setup to follow how a normal FULL xml file will flash using RSD Lite.

To have a lean, mean, smooth, and very debloated stock based ROM.  The reason it was posted like this is to offer a learning experience on how to use FXZ files.

If more people understood the processes, there would be less borked devices B) Nice writeup!

Then if you may my kind sir Aixelsyd, could you give the simplest explanation as to why with a normal flash process (twrp or cmw) its required to wipe before hand? Is it because your coming from the stock so there shouldn't be any base system changes that would clash?

Are we still talking about Wiping /system only? If so safety precaution more then anything IMO as most of the devs have it built into the script for a flahable *.ZIP to format/wipe System anyways.

This is very nice, and the process is actually quite easy as long as you have fingers, and can read. Thanks alot!

OK I used this before to flash my old HD. I'm trying to install it on my new HD. But when I try to flash the boot.img it comes back and says error: cannot load boot.img. Please help!

Edit: I redownloaded it and followed the instructions for putting it in the bin folder. I've tried everything I can think of before asking for help.

With you having a new HD did you unlock the bootloader prior to trying to flash this

Yes of course. I wouldn't have tried if it wasn't unlocked.

well then its either the file itself, a comp issue, or adb/fastboot setup is not right for whatever reason. 2 options to know for sure. One download this boot.img (

Please Login or Register to see this Hidden Content

) i just uploaded and manaully tested it on my Hd and it works as it should. If it still errors out I'd suggestion using commanad prompt in Win and change the directory so you are actually in the /bin folder where the files are at. Once you change directories to where the files are then manually type out the fastboot command to flash boot.img

This is EXACTLY what I was looking for.  I didn't mind Motorola's "tweaks", but I hated VZW's bloatware.  THANK YOU!!!
