True but it's a leak. Doesn't mean the official push won't muck with the bootloader

The official build is good to go if people do take the OTA. You can fastboot and keep root with voodoo.

I am not sure I am got answers I was curious about....... let me also rephrase

Various people took a leaked update .

When I ask what was in the update , cbs wasn't looking for ICS as an answer..more so the radio..or kernel changes....

The net net is will upgrading to the leak then back to .173 be another . No

For 181, it wouldn't surprise me if a radio or kernel changes cripples service or doent load the leak

The leak is the same as the official update.

It is RSD'able

It is rootable

It doesn't do anything retarded to your bootloader

Any other questions? Check the actual leak thread.

I just got this update - a whopping 17 MB ...I keep hitting installl later and i can't find the file anywhere in the cache file....i just went back from ICS to 173 .... but now i am just as happy with safe strap and black widow ics......i don't want to install this update and all the sudden safe strap , axiom and all those wonderful goodies don't work and i am stuck with no ICS leak , no ROM goodies and a stock .181 with possibly no root. EFF that , unless anyone has done this update and made it through ? I was on ics leak - i have a feeling the kernal will eff this progress up.

OK - i just saw that post - i have no idea why you feel an attitude needs to be delivered with your answer..... just don't answer.

i want to make sure that the soak , the official version ahwatever one - doesn't matter - .181 will not fail if you had the ICS leak at one point..... and my main concern is that safestrap...bootsrap and all those ROM goodies for ICS such as AxioM , CM9 and Gummy. what thread are you talking about? i see a couple threads labeled as such with really nothing of value from what i read last night - perhaps that changed.

I've had this build since the 9th (the day after it was compiled) and gave it to you guys on the 26th. There's very little interesting in it. It's all backend minor crap that no one really cares about other than the CDMA radio update. The original thread I created is here for those that want to install it manually.

In general, my understanding has been that companies don't modify a build and keep the same build number. In other words, if .181 had been modified, then a new build number would have been assigned to the modified compiled code.

Right I remember this thread, what was with the "don't ask for a changelog, I don't include changelogs, changelogs don't exist in the matrix, the first rule of changelogs is, there is no changelogs"? Just curious?

The changelog is in my OP for the leak. I could put a strikethrough on that I suppose and tell you to scroll to the bottom of the post I guess. I'll go fix it. I was being lazy.

I got the OTA and it installed flawlessly in about 7 minutes. BEFORE I installed, I went into Voodoo and did a temporary unroot. After the install, I restored the root with no issues. I had to re-install the Recovery with Safestrap, but that was nothing more than selecting "Install Recovery" because the Safestrap screen stated I had the "old" version.
Now, I HIGHLY suggest that if you are using Safestrap or another Clockworkmod recovery, you do a Nandroid backup BEFORE installing the OTA as a precaution. As soon as the upgrade was completed, I also made a Nandroid backup of the NEW version so if needed, I could use either one.
This upgrade was a simple one and didn't tear anything up! :-)
