Hey everyone. I'm writing this post in desperation. I absolutely love the speed and customization of RageRom, and at this point, it is the only reason I have not upgraded my phone yet. It makes it feel like new again. Unfortunately, I keep having to revert to stock because none of my texts successfully send on the rom.

 

Troubleshooting I have done so far:

1. Tried different sms/mms applications (e.g. gosms, sliding messaging, textra)

2. Fixed permissions in SafeStrap

3. Changed the preferred network mode to LTE/CDMA/EvDo (it was originally LTE/CDMA/EvDo/GSM/WCDMA, which didn't work either)

4. Deleted rom, wiped, and reinstalled twice

 

None of these have worked. Does anyone have any ideas/tips? I will be forever grateful. Thank you in advance.

I have absolutely no problems with SMS using Rage.

Try a clean install.

I've switch settings but I also tried turning airport mode on and off, that seems to work.

OK so I've never had to do this but if I remember right the fix for the SMS problem was this:

Dial this *#*#4636#*#*

Should bring up a menu to select network mode

Select cmda/evdo/lte (or the closest option) lol

Then go and toggle airplane mode on/off.

At this point you should be able to text message

Hope this is correct I am going from memory and I never had to do it personally.

This is true, thanks for posting the old *#*#4636#*#* trick!  Anyone forgetting about "Airplane Mode," press the Power button to bring up the shut down menu, select "Airplane Mode," then repeat to bring all the networks up again.

I had the same problem, and JL90s sugguestion worked.  One question though,

When I reboot the phone, it resets the radio and I have to go set it all again.  Any way to get it to stick once I change it?

Toggle airplane mode on/off after a reboot. Should get it working with out going through the whole process again. like this if it helps!

I have been dealing with this same issue for some time now and I'm about to change roms (a lot of work for me).  Every now and then my phone will reboot without me knowing it, then I try send out a text message and miss that it never went out.  I have screwed up sending a few "important" text messages because of this.  Most of  the time the phone is super fast with this rom, but it does seem to get some crazy slow downs as well.  Toggling airplane mode always fixes the problem, but its super annoying.

I had the same problem on RAZR M with deadrage (now deadcalm) I found a deodexed messaging apk and installed after uninstalling the messaging apk that was with deadrage. Now all fixed. everything seems and receives fine. Sent from my DROID RAZR

I wish I knew where to get that messaging APK.  Just tried bloodrage rom and it has the same problem.

If you need a stock deodexed messaging apk.... give me a couple min... I'll pull out for you
