this did not work for me
Did you follow EVERY STEP in the instructions? and I mean EVERY STEP!
EDIT; BTW, is your phone bricked or are you still on .84? If you can still boot up, then you did not do this right, lol.

And...if it does work but the kernel is ICS then we would just be stuck at 173 i assume
No, you wouldn't because when you fastboot back you also replace the kernal with .173 one.

I did this. I was able to get it to install the files but after the moto screen it just turns black.
I am VERY confused, did RSD run without error?
EDIT: LOL, just realized should happen, just press vol. down and power button for 10 sec. and it should reboot. After that, quickly get into the boot menu and select AP fastboot mode.

Can this be done with .181 fb files? Then rsd back again to 173? Im on the 84 leak but haven't tried anything yet as far as going back.....will want to for sure....cant wait to see some confirmations on this!

In theory, yes this should work but if you RSD via .181 files, then there is no need to RSD again to .173 files because they are BOTH rootable.

So what you're saying this must have brick your phone. Because you shoulda been doing this from a bootable .84 if I am correct?

Make sure both the moto-fastboot files and grfs.img and system.img are in the same folder. If it still doesn't work, then try taking out grfs in the second command. So, it would look like this:
moto-fastboot flash grfs.img

I noticed in dirtydroidx's post with this method ( the link above in the op) it says to only use the cmd window method if on the gb kernel, not ics leak. ics leaks should use the full rsd method with the replaced xml file....so now im a bit confused do i still run the cmd window then rsd full? or just rsd full with the swapped xml? by the way im running .84 leak and havent tried to get back yet, been running good so im gonna leave it for a bit....
Oh wow I should post links rather than to that post lol. That link is for people who had bricked phones back in December. I only wanted you to get the files needed from that post. I will update OP shortly.
