Sup guys. So I'm going to be buying a new computer soon and I'll be darned if I can't make up my mind... keep flip-flopping between ultra-portable and portable powerhouse. Ultra-portables are for the most part all the same so let's get to the reason for this thread....
What laptop would you guys recommend in the 13"-15" range, with i7 quad and 8gb+ ram... for under $1500?
I've got my eyes on an ASUS republic of gamers laptop and the alienware m14x... thoughts?
Thanks in advance!

100% wait a few months
Ivy bridge processors will become mainstream in the summer, Windows 8 will be released in the fall, and the new Macbook Pros will be released probably in June
Keep your eyes open and DO NOT buy for at least 2 months
If you really want to buy a windows PC then buy after June 2nd because you will be able to upgrade to Windows 8 for only $15
Good Luck!

Nice. Thx for the feedback dude! Yeah I'm probably going to wait a couple of months regardless just bc I'll have to save up a bit. I am definitely not getting another Mac... their friggin control makes it impossible to get Ubuntu running nicely. I had to work my rear end off to get it working on my Mac now. Not doing that again haha
Thx again

When you do save up you should get this one
It has an Ivy Bridge CPU and NVIDIA's newest GPU so if you're a gamer it will play them perfectly and do anything else you want.
