I'm still new to safe strap, what is the process for updating to new versions? Do I disable safe mode then simply run the new apk to update? Don't want to fudge anything up.

To update to a new version merely install the new APK and then use the "Install Recovery" button in the app. No need to disable Safe Mode or anything.
