NOTE: If your bootloader is UNLOCKED, we recommend you sit things out for this one.

Motorola has now began to send soak test invites out to those who are members of the Motorola Feedback Network, and those who own the Droid Razr HD and Droid Razr MAXX HD.

As you all know, being a soak tester requires you to be on unrooted stock ROM, the ROM you will want to be on is version 9.16.6. The two devices got a 9.16.9 leak a while back; this is the version you do NOT want to be on in order to participate.

Check your emails to see if you have received a soak invite! I'll update this post if anything changes. I hope this would be something bigger than a maintenance update, but I have a feeling it will just be a maintenance update. Just my opinion. Don't let that throw you off about joining the soak, I could always be wrong!

Read the email in the picture above, or in the text below:

Thanks for joining the Motorola Feedback Network. We are inviting owners of the Droid RAZR HD and RAZR HD Maxx on Verizon to participate in an early preview of a new software release, and provide feedback. If you are not currently using a Droid RAZR HD or HD Maxx, please excuse and ignore this email.

Click this link -- [LINK REMOVED] -- to take the enrollment survey if you wish to take part. Note that you must be a member in good standing of the Motorola Owners' Forums to be included. The registration window could close without notice so please respond as quickly as possible.

This is a confidential test under the terms of the Motorola Feedback Network. Do not post any details or information about this on any public sites.

Thanks -- please understand that start times are always fluid. We ask for your patience if you register but don't hear from us right away.

Haha, for sure. This is the fourth time I've got a moto soak invite, and the second for the wrong phone. No big deal. :-). I probably have the wring device registered on their site again. Haha. Done that before. Wouldn't take it anyway. Much safer to be patient.

I highly doubt it will lock the boot loader. Most likely they would fix the exploit djrbliss used. If moto even cares about it which I don't think they do  cause its been unlocked for a while now and they haven't fixed it yet. But I could be wrong ;)

THIS.... There is no way to re-lock your bootloader at best they can stop future unlocks so it is always recommended if you ARE going to take the OTA you should unlock first. Also you should wait until someone here has tested that taking the OTA with an unlocked bootloader will not cause issues.

Added a warning in the post; "NOTE: If your bootloader is UNLOCKED, we recommend you sit things out for this one."

I would be cautious......

Yes I understand but not everyone does and people are bound to take the OTA whether before or after unlocking so I was just saying IN CASE they have fixed the unlock method you should unlock first.

I actually messaged Matt about it and he said that they were skipping those who registered and unlocked their device via the moto website.  Figures they would get that wrong too.

I signed up just to see what happens. The question form didn't ask about being unlocked, just rooted.
