How to disable the OTA updater?

i heard a SOAK update was coming up for the Droid RAZR M and i have my bootloader unlocked running Deadrage.
i dont want to brick my phone or lose root. any way to just disable the updater?

If you are on a custom ROM you won't get the update.

Some stock based ROMs you'll still get the notification to update. I did with flying jelly on my RAZR m last upgrade. With titanium backup freeze the update.apk or something along those lines

I stand corrected....Hmmmm, sounds like like a mess waiting to happen. Stock based ROMs should have that disabled from the get go to avoid the support headache I would think.

Since my d1 if I was on stock based I got notification to update. When on a different version didn't even know they where happening.

Just freeze the updater.apk with ti backup

Edit: Just went through titanium backup and i didnt find anything named updater.apk or anything else along that line

Hmm I'm pretty sure that's what mine was named on a stock based rom

Just type in updater in the search bar it should show up something

All I had to do was long press on it, and the option to freeze was there.
