I have a Razr M that I rooted and unlocked with radiocomm and was happily using it with AT&T but just got the verizon update (98.18.78) and lost my GSM connection. I've used Matt's utility which got me back to 98.15.66, re booted and re-ran radiocomm but still can't connect. I get the grayed out bar area with the red circle/slash. Any thoughts on how I can get this back up and working on GSM?

Hi,

I'm in the same boat. Applied 98.18.78 like a dummy and now back to 98.15.66 but can't get the phone unlocked again using Radiocomm with NV fix. I'm new at this and not understanding the response from pbanj. Aren't we trying to redo the unlock with Radiocomm, or is there a step I am overlooking? Thanks!

Hi,

Here is what I did to get mine to work.

1 - First, used Matt's utility (Droid Razr M Utility1.20). I think option 1 to restore the phone and this put me back to 98.15.66.

2 - Use the Radiocomm software to perform the NV edit.

But here was the trick for me. Each time I would try the Radiocomm edit it didn't work. After reboot, the memory location that needs to be changed looked like I never changed it. This is when I started reading about others having the same issue of applying the fix and it not taking. Some people just keep trying. I read about a method that worked for me. Guy claims he has replicated this behavior many times. When you read the memory location and apply the edit...before rebooting....read the memory location again and write the change again. Just do it twice it a row. I rebooted my phone after this, and it worked like a charm. Pretty sure this is discussed in the link I posted if you read far enough into the thread.

However, I am still on the 98.15.66 software. I am curious if the method I used in Step 2 will work with the new system update and maybe that is all I ever needed to do in the first place. I'll try it out maybe this weekend. Unfortunately, no time right now. Would love to hear from others what worked for them.

Thanks all.

Forgive me ignorance but where/how do I read the memory location? Is it in the radiocomm program or on the phone?

Guys..... I hate to be a party pooper but discussing the methods for switching to another carrier are not to be discussed here due to a still very large grey area regarding legality.... thanx for understanding .....
