Forget it its still the older one. Checked for updates again and it said 98.16.3. Guess I have to uninstall twrp before updating for it to work. Something with adb so I'm guessing I need my wife's laptop for that.
.

Just an after thought. Would installing the update even be worth doing? I run a deodexed ROM as my DD so if its updated with my stock ROM will the deodexed ROM be updated also?

Yeah, you'll need to install the OTA with stock recovery.  If you want to install the update, use Matt's utility to restore back to stock.  Flash the update, re-flash TWRP, and flash a SU zip to re-root.  Then you can restore your old deodexed ROM if you want or modify the new one.  I think it will be worth the update so you can have the new radio.  I assume your bootloader is unlocked.

Tried today and failed. Started installing then went to stock recovery. I used Matt's utility to remove twrp but I think I should have also restored the ROM with it also. Or it could have been because it was rooted but I used voodoo to hide root. On a good note I found a twrp 2.5.0.0 Zip over on xda. Installed 2.3.2.3 with Matt's tool first then flashed the zip through recovery. So when I get up the courage I'll give it another try.

Has anyone been able to get a flashable zip of the new radio? On previous phones this was done at times and made things alot easier.

So I got it done this time. Used 1 and 2 from Matt's utility. Rooted and hid root with voodoo. Updated and restored root with voodoo. Reinstalled twrp with Matt's utility and made yet another backup. Thanks Matt BTW and Dan also. All up and running but wondering if the new WiFi radio gets utilized running my DD deodexed ROM. Can anybody tell me how to check that and what to look for? Thanks.

This is great!  I installed the new radio zip in TWRP and certainly see a WIFI improvement...  too soon to tell on my 4G radio.

Has anyone seen any custom roms made from the latest OTA yet?  Seems most devs are porting or building from AOSP but I sure love the near stock types like DST.

It has seemed to help out overall.  I work in a poor reception area and now I receive a solid 3g signal.  It's not 4g, but it's better than it was.  I haven't seen a modified ROM with the update, but MHous did release a rooted stock ROM and rooted, stripped down stock ROM.

I'm not saying the new update fixed my WiFi at all yet . Too soon but yesterday was playing mc4 with minimal lag going on. I didn't just dominant I was a killing machine. Had a 38 kill streak without dying one time . Best ever game. Could just be I was in the zone who knows.

I have an issue if I may pick some brains, I have an idea on how to resolve it, but first the background:

I unlocked and rooted my wife's M just like mine before the update.  She was bone stock of course, flashed TWRP 2.5 like my own, backed up her stock rooted JB 4.1.2 pre update.  I wanted to make sure she wouldnt accidentally install the update so I froze the updater package. I wanted to get her the better radios and get the update on her phone, so I protected Root with Voodoo OTA root keeper, and proceeded to install the update. **(When I did the update, it went to TWRP installed, had the last 2 lines fail, like others, but installed the .78 but did not flash new radio, I flashed it separately, and I am up to date radios and .78 system.) I got an error for verifying system on my Wife's M for system/apps/GMS_Maps (and I couldnt read the rest) So, I looked and she has all the stock apps, nothing else frozen, uninstalled, nothing.  I dont know why it would fail on that.

My question is, Can I go back to my stock rom and pull the GMS_Maps.apk and copy to her system/apps folder to see if it will take the update that way?  Otherwise, I dont know what else could be causing her update to fail.  I even tried to reflash stock recovery and install that way, same result.  OR Could I back up just her data, use matts Utility to back to bone stock fresh, install ota, keep root, get update, THEN would I be ok if I restored the Data only backup?

I been flashing and doing this stuff for a while, and know the steps and made sure each were covered.....Just at a loss right now.

I would do your 2nd option as start fresh. Just make sure when restoring that you restore only APP data and never any SYSTEM data.  ;)

Well, it would only be The "Data" portion of a TWRP Backup, not system or boot.  Thats my question, is that safe?  Trying to avoid having her re-do her phone, to help me avoid the complaining....LOL

Hmm... I have no experience with what you are trying to do. I usually use Titanium Backup to save apps and app data then restore after starting fresh. Never had an issue that way.

I have the Jrummy ultimate backup installed on her phone, didnt get her titanium backup as I dont think she would use it much, wonder if it works similar and is good enough.

Yeah you should be able to accomplish the same thing.
