I'd like to upgrade to the latest OTA update. Use VooDoo to keep my root but when I try to install it it download the OTA, reboots into TWRP and never completes. I'm assuming the stock bootloader with complete the process.

What do I need to do to upgrade to the latest OTA and get root back?

utility. Option 2 to install Moto recovery. Then your update should install. If it errors out you may need option 1 to go back to full stock

Has anyone found a ROM based on this newest OTA?

Mine also failed after using option 2. Using option 1 is where I'm headed next. On question if I root and hide it with voodoo will that cause an issue? I like the thought of getting root back using voodoo because it works quite easily.

Go here you don't need a PC. It is controversial subject but fully tested by Me.

 that is already rooted.

Been running it for about 24 hours, good so far.  Too soon to report though.

Also - do I want 98.16.3 or 98.18.78. This has left me very confused.

Tried flashing it in TWRP 2.6 and it failed. What am I doing wrong?

Hmm did you get the full one and not the lite? I only tested the full update. I used TWRP to backup, mount system, full wipe then install and reboot. Worked good for me...although I did restore back because it was missing a few custom options I was missing from DST ROM.

I tried both. The lite died instantly. The full one went a few seconds.

I'm getting "Error executing updater binary in zip" when trying to flash xt907-98.16.3.zip

Also tried flashing the gapps first. Using TWRP 2.6

What am I doing wrong?

Just use Matt's utility its quick and works. Option 2 and if still fails use option 1 and don't forget to root and hide root before updating. After updating restore root then reinstall your choice of recovery system. Assuming your boot loader is unlocked that is.

OK - I found the 1.20 Matt's utility. I flashed the stock bootloader. and tried to update using stock ota. Update failed.

More information - tryied to install gapps in case i was missing something and it also failed. It went through optimizing apps - the starting apps - then it says, Unfortunately the process com.google.process.gapps has stopped.

There's something I've done apparently to my phone that is causing the upgrade process to be unhappy. But it's not giving me a lot of information about where to look.

You mean you restored stock recover right? If so use option 1 and install a new system. Have your current system backed up before doing so. Then use the utility to root the new system you just installed. Then get voodoo from Google play and make a backup of root . Then hide root with voodoo. Then update your phone. Then restore root with voodoo. Then use utility to install twrp and backup your new installed updated ROM. Then your good to go. Restore an older system or use the new one. Might seam like a lot but it goes fast but like I said make a backup of what your on now if you haven't already before using option 1.

The lite version is a .xml zip and can only be flashed through fastboot.

You don't need to flash GAPPs with a stock ROM.
