After 6 months of trouble with RAZR shutting of each time I use Motorola FM radius radio. Motorola is changing me to a bionic. They said RAZR Max same problem. Motorola FM reduced Watts from 5 to 2 on handheld FM radio but it still kills RAZR. Everytimer I key radio phone shuts off and discharges battery from 90 to 0%. The phone will not restart with hold in button as normal.have to locate a charger and plug in to allow to restart. 2 new phones, new stem card and 2 complete wipe out and restarts by motorola engineering. I hate to lose RAZR and go to bionic.

My guess is that the Motorola FM radio app is causing serious damage to his razr and maybe others. Whatever its trying to do the app is draining the battery at an alarming rate which sounds like an issue with phones hardware and moto app not playing nice together.

What gets me is why are they moving him to a bionic? Is Moto FM radio really worth it? I would just dump the FM radio if it were me, lol.

I didn't think the RAZR supported FM radio... and I couldn't find a Moto FM radio app. There is an actual Motorola FM radius radio. Why the signal from that would screw up the RAZR that bad is beyond me. If anything I would think it would have more of an affect on an older phone.

And it sounds like it's a two way radio and whwnever he "keys" it, or hits talk, it jacks up his phone. Idk..that's how I understand it.

Correct. When FM mobile radio is keyed to respond to base FM radio phone shuts down. Our FM dealer said not possible so I replicated the issue 2 times for him. Suck!

Ok correct me if I'm wrong but FM radio as in like...listening to music or news on the radio? There are so many alternatives to get music, I'm sad to see someone switch phones just because of that, especially with how great the razr is. Everyone has their own preferences though, so good luck with the Bionic!

I believe the OP is talking about a 2-way FM radio manufactured by Motorola (think CB radio) to communicate between a base at the office and mobile units.

I and several of my pd friends use razrs and moto radios to dispatch and have never saw are herd of this.
