OH. EM. GEEEE!!!!  I found a problem with this rom..... FINALLY..  (Well actually found two, But shhhhh)  Swype doesn't work on keyboard.  When I try to use it, I  get a force close on the keyboard!!!  Im not really trying to be excited, but it means that the Devs of this rom are human!! 

 

However, I would like to point out that I no longer get notifications from GMail.  I tried uninstalling and reinstalling but hasn't fixed it..  guess this is the second one I was talking about..

 

About to update to 9/22 tho!

I had to install an app killer to regain some ram. It's killing Tasker more times than I can count.

Just installed 9/22 with a new GApps.  Everything is working flawlessly..  Much Love to Somber73 and the Carbon Team!

Same here. It's also telling me that I only have 808 MB of RAM and 16 GB of storage on my XT926.

While I might let the RAM issue slide, the storage issue is quite significant. FWIW, I'm still on the 9/21 ROM.

It seems for me in the past few builds that whatever changed as far as RAM management is concerned has becoming overly aggressive in closing apps. Pandora and poweramp will shut down if only a few other apps are running simultaneously.

I wonder if this is the same thing you guys are talking about.

No, I am talking about the fact there is 15mb on boot. and it sits through the day with about 30MB available. Which is hideous.

 

I'm going to try the one on XDA, I'll post back if there is any difference.

Perhaps I mis-stated.

 

The Carbon Team builds this ROM officially for this device.  We run nightlies, so there is no reason for unofficial builds.

Are you not running this build? I'm confused what you mean by "I've got the one somber73 built".

These are OFFICIAL nightlies mate. I do NOT support any other builds, and unofficial builds are a big nono if there are officials rolling.

I cannot, and will not support unofficial builds.  How can I?

 

We roll Carbon officially from jenkins every night.  Is there some reason folks would prefer someone else to build the ROM?  It's already officially being built, not sure what else we can do for you.  If you choose to use unofficial builds, that is your choice - but the OP should know that's not kosher.

I don't see why. Free RAM doesn't do anything to make your device run faster. Slower if anything.

This is why there is such a war against these two sites, XDA and droidrzr. Seems as if XDA is right on this, and probably has been right most times in the past. People "stealing" official builds to build their own build doesn't seem like it's kosher at all.

 

By the way, I've moved to the official build and RAM is maintaining at 60MB, which was a lot better than the build available here.

Apparently you don't know too much they are built from same source. Learn before you run your mouth

Whatever don't want any more crying bought it here when 4.2 was out and now you whine. Shouldn't need permission for unofficial when its open source especially when its here, I don't build official and no one from carbon brought it here. I probably brought more users your way.  I apologize if what i did offended you but not because i built them thanks for the mature and respectful pm prolly would have went a lot differently.

I'm discontinuing builds.  Carbon unofficial is done.
