Is there a way to alter the action of the search hard key? I like it to only bring up something like Google on a long press...right now a shirt click brings up Google now...long press crashes Google voice for some reason

I've downloaded and installed bloodrage v2.5 and it boots up fine, but I can't get any cell reception, I also get a force close from the bloodrage messaging app... Re-downloaded bloodrage on my laptop and from phone multiple times, erased slots and recreated them, cleared system, cache, dalvik, factory reset and still same problem.. (currently using safestrap 3.65 and tried with rom on slot 1 and slot 2)
Tried ejecting and reinserted Sim card (doesn't show Sim card removed alert)
I erased everything in my phone and took out my SD card, reset my phone using mattlgroff's Droid RAZR Utility, restored everything back to stock, installed safestrap 3.11 instead of 3.65, reboot and did the process of creating rom slot 1, still had cell reception problems with the rom, Re-downloaded for one last time on the computer, transferred rom to phone via USB, deleted rom slot 1 and created rom slot 2, reflashed using the new download and the problem reoccurred AGAIN... So I just gave up and reflashed another rom, I believe that there's no solution for making this work with my xt912.. I tried all of what's mentioned above in 3 days... I couldn't believe that other people have this working besides me... :/ I'm left out for now I guess

1 created a slot
2 flashed the zip
3 reboot
4 get to set up and never get a signal/messaging fc
5 redownloaded and tried above on slot 2.

Out of curiosity...did you wipe anything after installing the zip?
Or...have any errors during creation of romslot?
Also...did you try slots 3 or 4?

I hate to see ya give up man...you are the first person who simply could not get it working that I have heard from.
Honestly I'm kind of at a loss here. I've heard of people having to redownload and the messaging fc is always a bad DL. Maybe try slots 3 and 4. Very strange indeed.

Yeah I tried both of your download links on both pc and phone, and no, I didn't do any wipes after flashing, just rebooted.... I guess I'll try 3 or 4 and Re-download again... I never got any errors creating rom slots... I remember using a previous version of your rom and it worked fine (don't remember which version).. Don't like to give up... Maybe it'll work with slot 3 or 4 but I'll definitely give up after that if problem still persists

For the search, single press, go into the google app in settings and clear defaults. My long press is controlled by Apex launcher and I can change that action in it's settings. What launcher are you using?

I'm having trouble installing the latest version as well. SS 3.65, Rom Slot 1 (freshly wiped, factory reset). It boots and gets to the initial language selection screen (I do get the "BloodRage Messaging has Stopped" error just before that), but it goes into a perpetual "Please wait, this may take a few minutes" state for multiple hours before I get frustrated and boot back to the stock ROM.

 

I'm taking one more stab at it, deleting the ROM slot, recreating it, wiping it, then reflashing. If that doesn't work . . . I will be greatly saddened

Have you tried rebooting to safestrap while the message is on the screen..... wipe cache and dalvik then try again .........then reboot again...

I'll try re-signing some stuff tonight and post a new DL link...not sure if its the ROM or just safestrap being a piece of **** but we will sort it out.

Maybe turn off MD5 signing check in Safe Strap?

I'm back to report success. While I didn't take notes, I believe I did the following:

1. Activate the stock slot
2. Delete/re-create Slot 1
3. Activate Slot 1
4. Wipe (the default wipe, not advanced)
5. Re-flash
6. Wipe Cache and Dalvik (not sure this was necessary, but it only took a couple of seconds)
7. Boot

Everything went normally after that.

 

I'm loving the smooth performance, but my taste in themes is, um, different from JL90's . . . I love Dethklok, but I don't want to be a member

Try the blue theme in the OP. I find it much "calmer", lol.

FYI...the stock theme is going to get a little bit of a facelift in the form of some new wallpapers me and my good buddy Grimm are working on...gonna have a small update for BR and the stock theme soon! The new walls will fit better with the stock theme than my crazy satanic stuff. LOL! \m/
