* Phone is rooted
* Root saved with Voodoo OTA Rootkeeper
* No Bloatware frozen or removed (that I know of...haha)
* Never flashed any custom ROMs or anything like that
* Bootloader Not unlocked
* Prior to attempting update, I did temp-unroot with OTA Rootkeeper (and verified, after a reboot, that it is indeed temp-unrooted)
First method:
First, I attempted the update the 'normal' way by going into Settings - About Phone - System updates, etc.
The update downloaded (and at that time, I saved a copy of it with OTA Snatcher, but didn't use it yet).
Then I told it to install, and it started its process, rebooted the phone, got to the update install place where the droid has belly open with spinning gadget, and progress bar below.
Then, shortly into that, it failed and showed the droid on its back with red triangle in belly.
Second method:
I copied the OTA to my removable SD Card, shutdown, then pressed power and volume up to get the recovery menu, chose recovery, chose to update from external, browsed to find the update, and selected it.
The update process started, but then stopped shortly into it, and gave the following error message...
assert failed: apply_patch_check("/modem/image/dsps.b01", "62d778c9c131d326314a621c07c83f773d0ae90e", "bf66bb5baa2113e35c766e77015f902b2fce9e1c")
Now, I have searched, and found a page with this same thing posted, but there's not much on it out there anywhere that I can see.
Does anyone here know more specifically what this particular error message means?
Any ideas on what I could try to get the update to work?
Thanks.
