Razr HD xt926 computer mounting problem

Best Answer themrgoats , 25 September 2013 - 09:33 AM

Finally figured out the problem and a workaround if anyone has this problem as well. The problem is the mediastore component of the OS is not updating properly. The fix is to run a media scanner app from the play store before u plug the phone into the computer to force it to find the new files. I have tried 3 different apps. I'm not sure which works the best. They all may do the trick. If anyone is having this problem just try one of these types of apps until it works. Thanks for the assistance guys. running slim 4.2.2 official 8 with proper drivers (motohelper5.9) on my computer and i have a strange problem. when i plug my phone into my computer to transfer files from it it mounts just fine and shows up on my computer. however as i browse through the files on my computer they are the wrong files! the computer is reading my files from a month or so ago as if the files were still on my phone even after i have deleted them. however the real problem is that it cannot see anything new on my phones storage either. so obviously i can't transfer any new files if my computer doesn't see them. this happens with my internal storage and sd card. i have reinstalled both the drivers and other slim roms and it still has this problem. any ideas? thanks in advance.

interesting problem....I noticed that if I delete files on the phone while using the PC, that can happen if that is what you mean...the files are moved to the trash but not deleted. Try emptying your trash.

As for not seeing anything else, hmmm.

Thanks for the response. I tried emptying the trash bin. Didn't work. Neither did refreshing the window. The best way i can describe it is basically when i plug it in, it only sees a filesystem from a month or 2 ago. Although obviously the phone shows differently when you use it only. It's the strangest thing.

have you tried to read the sdcard on a pc and see whats there? maybe save it all and reformat the card....

but since you have issues with the internal, its obviously something else...

Could be because 4.2.2 roms set up folder 0 on your SD card due to new profiles in 4.2. If you look in folder 0 you should see your newer files.

There is no 0 folder on the computer tho. It just chooses for me what it thinks is internal or sd card memory. And i can't go further back in the phone's filesystem. I think i understand your thought tho. I think it is a rom problem because i restored a carbon 4.3 rom and it showed up correctly. I'm going to try slim 4.3 to see if it's a slim problem or just a slim official 8 problem.

I believe the 0 folder that Memnoch referenced is on the SD Card. But obviously you have issues...

Nah it's not. I know what he means about 4.2 changing the filesystem and adding an emulated folder and all that stuff. So i reinstalled carbon and have the same problem! It really is blowing my mind. Super frustrating cuz i have to use an otg cable to transfer stuff. Although that mini sd card adapter that u found should be a little easier. I'll have to get that.
