So tonight, I decided, like an idiot, to attempt to upgrade from .209 to .210 with 13% battery on my MAXX. It's a MAXX. Should be fine, right?

Nope. As has happened to a few others, my upgrade failed the first time (system 7 failure, or something like that). So I go back to Fastboot back to .181 again. BATTERY LOW. CRAP.

Tried all the Fastboot charging tricks that are floating around (power off phone, hold down volume buttons, plug in wall-charger, hit BP Tools, etc.)... Didn't work, because my phone was corrupted (best explanation I've got) from the failed upgrade.

So, I started freaking out. Nearly dropped money on a TBH cable.

But then, I noticed that if my phone was plugged into the wall charger, and I selected AP Fastboot... It said "Battery OK", as opposed to "Battery Low", which I got when plugged into my PC.

So, here's what I did to get one last chance at a Fastboot and an upgrade (which is completing as we speak -- hoping my battery holds out just a few more minutes):

1. Plug phone into wall charger.

2. Enter AP Fastboot. (Battery should say "OK".)

3. Unplug from wall-charger, and connect to PC.

4. Begin the fastboot.

5. Each time the fastbooting process rebooted my phone, I repeated steps 1-3. Then continued Fastbooting.

Hoping this works for someone else who's stuck in the same boat as I was. I don't know if there is/was just enough juice left in the battery to facilitate this, or if the phone does somehow charge just a little when in AP Fastboot mode plugged into a wall-charger. Either way, I'm not complaining.

Typing this from Singlecore -- it totally worked.

And Pinoy wasn't asking a question -- it worked for him, too. :)

I feel so overjoyed right now, honestly this is just genius. I was literally on my last limbs trying to figure out what to do and this has so far saved me and moved me in the right direction. I'm tech saavy but not mobile saavy, haha took me a while to realize I had to remove the usb from the computer and plug it into the wall charger and that made me face palm myself. I can never thank you enough for this amazing solution. God Bless you.
