Hey everyone, just picked up myself a new RAZR M, love the perfect feel of this device. I've been looking into rooting and roms for this bad boy, but am a little overwhelmed with where to start. I have some questions that have probably been answered elsewhere, but haven't been lucky in finding them. 

 

First off, my M is system version 98.16.3 on Verizon. Is this the newest OTA, screwing me out of unlocking it? Or will the Razr M Utility 1.20 work on this?

 

If I can indeed unlock it, what is the most stable 4.3 ROM that you've used? I also see that Cyanogenmod has an official release candidate of CM10.1, has anyone used this? What other source ROM's perform excellently on this device, with acceptable battery life?

 

If I can't unlock it, where can I find ROMs for just a rooted, but not unlocked, device? Please excuse me if I've overlooked anything obvious in the forums, been looking it over for several days and haven't really found any answers to my Q's.

i believe thats the previous firmware so as long as your phone wasnt on the current update then flashed back you should be able to unlock.cm rc1 has been running great for me. good luck

Excellent news, thanks for the reply. Still curious if anyone has run a good, stable 4.3 ROM?

I've been running cyankang for a while now it has great battery life and no issues so far

i am running 98.16.3, can i unlock the bootloader or is it impossible? will there ever be an unlock..
